I grew up in the suburbs of Sydney and started piano lessons at the age of 5. My first teacher told my parents they were wasting their money as I had no musical aptitude. Mum and Dad perservered however and found me another teacher who was a little more encouraging. I bumbled along with the lessons and while practice was (and still is) an unusual occurrance I managed to keep in touch. When I entered high school however music suddenly seemed exciting mostly due to a great group of teachers who ran a diverse and interesting program. I was playing in brass bands, big bands, rock groups and choir and took music through to yr 12 ( the only subject I passed with any dignity).

 

It was then that I started writing songs for my school rock band and this continued after school where we played around at local hotels, wine bars and parties. Through much of the next ten years I gigged around Sydney in and out of grotty little places like the 'Manzil Room' and the 'Kardomah Cafe' where at least the punters would actually pay to come and see you play. I still can't believe that three times a week I'd stumble in my front door at 3 or 4am only having to be up again at 6am to go to my day job. All without drugs!!! I also got aquainted with the intricacies of recording contracts which I am eternally thankfull we never signed.  

 

After becoming a little jaded with the music business I eventually moved to Qld's Gold Coast and settled down to have a family. The songs kept bashing away inside me however until I decided to build a writing studio under the house and get back to what I love doing. The result of this latest effort is my first independent release "Never Too Late".  I hope that if you like the sample tracks you'll consider purchasing the album online from this site.
